Bajra/Pearl Millet Dishes you can enjoy 

Pearl Millet also popularly known as Bajra in India is rich in vitamin, fibre, zinc, iron, and antioxidants.  It is widely consumed by the nursing mothers but it has host of other merits including managing blood pressure, good heart health, lowering cholesterol, prevents cancer and anaemia, aids in digestion and wealth management. 

Presenting below are the two different recipes of bajra which can be perfect breakfast and snack option. 

1) Mini Bajra Thepla - Easy Breakfast option 

2) Bajra Muthiya - A fried snack option which can be enjoyed in this rainy season when we all crave for fried food


Mini Bajra Thepla served with adrak wali chai - Easy Breakfast option 

Ingredients and method: 

1) In a big bowl add 1.5 cup of bajra flour, add salt to taste, 3 tablespoon each of chopped methi leaves and dhania leaves, add 1 teaspoon of dhania jeera powder, pinch of hing, 1/2 teaspoon of green chilli paste and slight water. 

2) Prepare the dough and now make small mini thepla. Roll the thepla either on your hand, take some water in between or put a butter paper and roll it on belan chakla.

3) Heat the tava pour 1 tablespoon of oil and put 4 to 5 mini thepla.  Cook on both sides and serve hot.  

Bajra Muthiya - A fried snack option which can be enjoyed in this rainy season when we all crave for fried food



Ingredients and method: 

1) In a bowl take 1 cup bajra flour, 2 tablespoon each of Rava, besan or wheat flour, 1 teaspoon of ginger garlic paste, 1 teaspoon of garlic paste 

2) Add salt and spices like pinch of haldi, one teaspoon each of Kashmiri chilli powder and coriander jeera powder, 1/2 cup each of methi leaves and dhania leaves

3) 1 teaspoon of til, 1/2 teaspoon of oil and water...add water only in small portion so u can roll the Muthiya. 

4) Deep fry or make it in Appam pan and serve hot with chai
