The biggest festival of the year - Diwali is celebrated with making of several traditional delicacies like Chakli, Chivda, Shakarpara, Sev and Besan Ladoo.  In addition there is tradition to gift and buy lot of sweets from the market be it Kaju Katli or Peda. However, at times market bought sweets don't have the purity or the taste like the homemade ones.  Since these sweets require storage there is addition of preservatives so they can have longer life.   Today I am sharing two sweets made from the home made khoya. #Navratri 2022 Coconut Kesar Barfi and Ladoo with flavours of Rose petals and Nutmeg  This is very easy sweet to make without the the need to make chasni or roast for long time. I have used desiccated coconut and not the fresh coconut. If you want to use fresh coconut the process is typically longer and also will need some binding agent. Instead use dry coconut powder and try this dish. The uniqueness of the simple sweet is it has flavours of nutmeg and rose petals which makes it more tasty.  Ingredients:  1 cup milk  1 cup desiccated coconut  5 to 6 teaspoon of sugar 4 to 5 kesar strands  1 teaspoon of dry rose petals  3 pinch of nutmeg powder or you can grate the nutmeg  1 teaspoon of ghee 2 green elaichi seeds  1 tablespoon of cashew or almond powder and some for garnish to add richness to the dish  Method: In a thick bottom pan add 1/2 cup milk, boil it and then add elachi, kesar. Mix well Now add dry fruit powder and keep stirring i...
