Try this flavourful Paan Gulkand Modak this Ganpati
Recipe:
Modak are made with homemade khoya .. below is the process:
For home made khoya - Take 2 cups malai and 1 cup milk in a thick pan and keep stirring till it becomes thick which will take 30 mins. Once the soft khoya leave the sides of the pan it is ready
You can replace this with milk powder or mkt bought khoya
For Modak:
In a mixture jar take 4 Paan leaves, cut it, add 4 Teaspoon sugar, 2 teaspoon desiccated coconut and 1 tablespoon milk. Mix like a paste
In a pan take around 1 cup of home made khoya, add 2 elachi, Paan paste and mix well and cook it for few mins
Now add 1 cup of desiccated coconut powder...mix well and add one teaspoon of ghee, dry rose petals and crushed pista...keep mixing...in case u find mixture loose at this point then add 1 tablespoon more of coconut powder....once it leaves the sides it is ready... cool in a plate
For filling take 7-8 pista crush it with dry rose petals and add 2 teaspoon of Gulkand...my Gulkand was hard ...in case your Gulkand is liquid and watery add Kaju powder...now make a dough and small round balls
Now make round of Paan coconut mixture....fill in Gulkand balls and give Modak shape and use side of fork to draw the lines
