Soulful meal - Green moong dal khichdi with kadhi
Easy to cook soulful meal are best in Winters. With the onset of winters do try this simple combo of Green moong dal khichdi with kadhi. Lighter on stomach this meal can be perfect dinner option. You can serve it with Papad, achaar or even salad. Enjoy and let me know if you liked it.
Green moong dal khichdi recipe
- Its a very easy recipe. You can cook the khichdi either on low flame in a pan or you can also make it in cooker. I prefer to make it in a pan as this khichdi is bit runny in texture
- We are using green moong dal and not green moong. Green moong dal just like Yellow moong is easily available in any grocery store. Stores like Dmart also give readymade green moong dal and rice khichdi mix.
- Take 1 cup rice and 3 tablespoon of green moong dal, wash it, add salt, water, hing and turmeric...let it cook on slow flame...before serving add ghee on it
Gujarati kadhi recipe
Take 1 big cup of curd preferably slightly khatta or sour ..Add 2 teaspoon of besan and salt as per taste and mix it
You can use hand blender to mix it well and now add water...keep mixing while adding water
If u like thick kadhi add less water and in case you love slightly thin kadhi then add more water....approx. half cup water u will need
The tadka is the most important part of the Kadhi. For the tadka:
Take 2 teaspoon of desi ghee or cow ghee in a pan
After heating ghee for seconds on a low flame
Add few mustard seeds, jeera, meethi dana, whole coriander seeds, one small piece of dalchini stick and let it crackle...then add hing...close the gas
Add curry leaves and dahi ka mixture...let it boil on low flame.
Keep stirring it...now add 2 teaspoon of sugar... coriander leaves and after one boil close the gas, add one green chilli or ginger green chilli paste
Serve the blissful meal of khichdi Kadhi with papad hot.
