Coconut Chopped Pan Leaves, Rose Petals and Pista Modak 

This is very easy modak made for Ganpati Bappa for Sankasthi Chaturthi.  You can enjoy this sweet in the March heat as ingredients such as Paan and Rose petals has cooling effect. No added colours and preservatives. You can easily keep this in fridge for 4 days. But I insist you enjoy it fresh since they are very easy to make. 

Ingredients: 

  • 1 cup desiccated coconut powder (This is dry coconut powder easily available everywhere) 
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 to 4 kesar strands 
  • 1/2 teaspoon of elaichi powder 
  • 1 tablespoon of dry rose petals 
  • 2 Paan leaves chopped 
  • 1 table spoon of Pista crushed 
  • 1 tablespoon of ghee
  • Modak moulds 
Method: 
  • In a thick bottom pan boil half cup of milk, add rose petals, elachi powder and crushed Paan leaves 
  • Next add sugar, kesar and chopped pista. Give one boil to the milk and add coconut powder
  • Keep stirring till the mixture leaves the aroma and sides of the pan
  • Lastly add one tablespoon of ghee and transfer the mixture to the plate
  • Grease the modak moulds and stuff the mixture and give the modak shape
  • Garnish it with some pista and rose petals
